Joseph Sikora

Josef Sikora was born in 1928 as the son of Franz Sikora in Raudatz, Romania, and lived in Bielsko, Poland, until he was 14. After leaving school, he began an apprenticeship as a toolmaker, but was unable to complete it because he was called up for labor and military service during his apprenticeship.

After the end of the war, Josef Sikora moved to Trattenbach with his parents because his sister was married there. He was finally able to complete his apprenticeship as a toolmaker at the Enns power plant in Ternberg.

In 1948, father and son laid the foundation for today's company by starting their own business in Ternberg with a bakelite press that Josef Sikora had built themselves, a wood turning machine and their shared knowledge of tool and furniture fittings production.

In 1962 Josef Sikora became the sole owner of the company and after the death of his father it was taken over by Franz Sikora's successor in Joseph Sikora renamed. In 1978 the company name was changed to SIRO GesmbH. Josef Sikora was appointed personally liable partner and managing director. Due to the very successful expansion of the worldwide sales network and the associated economic successes, continuous investments were made in the Ternberg plant and the worldwide production and sales locations.

In 2001 Josef Sikora withdrew from the operative business and handed over the management to his son Gerhard, but continued to support the company in an advisory capacity.

Due to his human nature and his professional knowledge, Josef Sikora was respected and valued by business partners and employees alike. He exemplified values ​​and principles such as handshake quality, loyalty, creativity and trust in the performance and will of the employees, which are still deeply rooted in the company today. He has received numerous honors and awards for his life's work, his strong social commitment and his support of various aid organizations.

Josef Sikora died on September 20, 2016 at the age of 88 surrounded by his family. We owe a great debt of gratitude for his work for the benefit of the company and its employees and will always honor his memory.
